ISTANBUL

The US Embassy in Qatar lifted its shelter-in-place order on Monday following Iranian missile attacks on the American Al Udeid Air Base, announcing normal operations would resume Tuesday.

"The US Embassy has lifted the shelter-in-place order that was in effect on June 23. The Embassy will reopen tomorrow, and consular services will continue without interruption," the embassy in Doha announced.

The facility had advised American nationals to shelter in place earlier Monday amid escalating tensions following US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

US President Donald Trump said no Americans were harmed, and "hardly any damage was done" in the Iranian attacks.

The embassy noted Qatari airspace remains closed, affecting flight operations across the region. It advised travelers to monitor flight status closely with airlines and follow updates from Qatar's government regarding airspace conditions.

The embassy issued detailed security instructions for potential future attacks, advising citizens to seek cover immediately upon hearing explosions or sirens.

Guidelines included taking shelter in the lowest building level with minimal exterior exposure, lying down outdoors if hardened structures are unavailable, and staying alert for falling debris from intercepted missiles or drones.

The public was warned to avoid debris after attacks and monitor official news sources for guidance.

The shelter order was initially issued following expectations of Iranian retaliation for US strikes on nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan on Sunday.
