The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 9,514.01 points, down 1.60% from the previous close.
After starting the day at 9,666.18, the BIST 100 index fell 154.35 points from the previous close.
The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,514.01, while the daily high was 9,683.25.
As many as 72 indexes lost in value, while 27 closed the day with gains.
The total transaction volume reached 98.7 billion Turkish liras ($2.54 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.68 trillion liras ($224.93 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 38.8305 as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 43.7565, and the GBP/TRY traded at 51.9365.
The price of gold was $3,281.30 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $64.60.
