T眉rkiye's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar praised the strong turnout at the 陌stanbul Energy Forum, highlighting his country鈥檚 pivotal role and the global community's trust in the nation.
鈥淭his was both important in terms of showing T眉rkiye's position as a central country and an indication of the trust in our country,鈥� Bayraktar told Anadolu on the sidelines of the one-day forum organized by Anadolu under the auspices of the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry.
鈥淐ountries from many regions from Central Asia to Russia, from the Middle East to North Africa, from the Balkans to Central Europe were represented here at the ministerial level,鈥� he added.
Highlighting the global interest in the forum, Bayraktar proposed renaming it the 鈥淚nternational Istanbul Energy Forum鈥� to reflect its international scope accurately.
鈥淲e have already implemented many bilateral and multilateral projects together. We are entering a period of significant opportunities for the future,鈥� he added.
Noting T眉rkiye鈥檚 aim to increase installed renewable capacity to 120 gigawatts by 2035, Bayraktar said: 鈥淭眉rkiye will strengthen Europe's energy security not only through natural gas but also by providing green energy.鈥�
Prominent officials attending the Istanbul Energy Forum included Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, Bulgaria's Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov, Georgian First Vice Prime Minister and Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Levan Davitashvili, Hungary's Foreign and Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto, Moldova's Energy Minister Victor Parlicov, Libya's Oil and Gas Minister Khalifa Rajab Abdulsadek, Serbia's Energy, Mines Minister Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic and Uzbekistan's Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamahmudov.
