QatarÌýwillÌýinvestÌý$1.26BÌýinÌýclimateÌýtechnologyÌýinÌýBritainÌýas part of a landmark clean energy partnership between London and Doha, accordingÌýtoÌýaÌýUKÌýgovernment statement on Wednesday.
The newÌýUK-QatarÌýpartnership is expectedÌýtoÌýcreate thousands of highly skilled jobs across theÌýUKandÌýinÌýDohaÌýoverÌýits lifetime, asÌýQatarÌýwillÌýinvestÌý£1 billion ($1.26 billion)ÌýinÌýUKÌýclimateÌýtechnologyÌýwhich also accelerate the developmentÌýinÌýclimate-friendly technologies.
AccordingÌýtoÌýthe statement by theÌýUKÌýgovernment, British engineering giant Rolls-Royce will benefit fromÌýinvestmentÌýinÌýprojects supporting the clean energy transition.
It will also seeÌýinvestmentÌýinÌýstart-upsÌýinÌýboth countries focusing on energy efficiency, carbon management, and green power.
This comes duringÌýQatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim binÌýHamad Al Thani’s two-day state visitÌýtoÌýtheÌýUK.â€�
"We’re delivering on our promiseÌýtoÌýmake growth our number one priority, by boosting our partnerships with other forward-looking partnersÌýtoÌýinvestÌýinÌýUKÌýindustry and create thousands of highly-skilled jobsÌýinÌýtheÌýindustries of the future,"ÌýUKÌýPrime Minister Keir Starmer said.â€�
Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed binÌýAbdulrahman Al Thani termed the newÌýinitiative a "groundbreaking partnership," saying the new collaboration aligns with their long-term strategyÌýtoinvestÌýinÌýthe economies of the future.
"This new partnership further strengthensÌýQatar’s position as a leading globalÌýinvestorÌýinÌýclimateÌýtechnologies," he added.
