The stock market opened lower Friday as the U.S. economy reported job losses in September.
The Dow Jones fell 28 points to open at 22,747 points, while the S&P lost 4 points to 2,547 points.
The Nasdaq decreased 17 points to begin the last trading day of the week at 6,568 points.
All three indexes closed Thursday at their record high levels.
American economy lost 33,000 jobs in September, a first in the past seven years, the U.S. Department of Labor announced earlier Friday.
The decline in non-farm payrolls last month was a result of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the department said.
The market expectation for the data was an increase of 80,000.
