U.K.'s National Trust听plans to invest听拢30 million ($47 million)听in country's renewable energy towards the country's 2020 targets, organization announced Monday.
"We鈥檙e making our biggest ever investment in renewable energy to heat and power more of the historic places we look after," said听the organization's press release.
The听investment is important to aid in reaching the renewable targets,听the organization听said.
U.K. aims听to听reduce reliance on fossil fuels, cut energy usage by 20 percent and source 50 percent of country's听energy from renewable sources听by 2020.
A听200 kilowatt lake source heating project听which will help save听68 tonnes of CO2 per year and a听250 kilowatt hydro scheme which will听provide听an income stream to support conservation work, are among projects to receive funding.
Additionally, two biomass boilers at听Upton House听in Warwickshire will be used to heat the mansion and other areas, saving an estimated 55 tonnes of CO2 per year.
