Five people were killed and 25 others injured in a Russian missile attack on the town of Samara in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, local authorities said Friday.

“Twelve of the wounded are in hospitals, and four remain in serious condition,” said Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.

Lysak also reported separate Russian drone and artillery attacks on the Nikopol district, damaging a pharmacy, an apartment building, a private house, and cars in several communities.

A 25-year-old man was among four people injured in the Nikopol strike. He remains in the hospital in moderate condition.

In another drone attack on the Synelnykove district’s Ukrainska community, a private house caught fire, while a car and tractor were damaged.

Russia has not yet responded to the claims. Attacks on the region have increased as fighting intensifies in eastern Ukraine.
