Energy giant British PetroleumÌýannounced on Wednesday that it awarded the onshoreÌýfront end engineering and design contractsÌýfor itsÌý$12 billion Tangguh LNG expansion project to two consortiums in Indonesia.Ìý
The first consortium isÌýPT. Tripatra Engineers and Constructors, PT. Tripatra Engineering, PT. Chiyoda International Indonesia, PT. Saipem Indonesia, PT. Suluh Ardhi Engineering and Chiyoda Corporation Consortium. The second consortium includes, PT. Rekayasa Industri, JGC Corporation, PT. KBR Indonesia and PT. JGC Indonesia.
The project, located in Teluk Bintuni Regency in Papua Barat province of Indonesia, will add 3.8 million tons (5.24 billion cubic meters) per annumÌýliquefaction capacity to Tangguh, bringing a total capacity to 11.4 (15.7 billion cubic meters), said the company statement.Ìý
British Petroleum, BP,Ìýand the Tangguh partners also signed a sales and purchase agreement with Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company to supply up to 1.5 million tons (2 billion cubic meters) of LNGÌýeach year from 2015 to 2033, said the statement.ÌýÌý
