​​​​​​Türkiye's total oil imports decreased by 7.8% to 3.83 million tons in March compared to the same month in 2024, according to recent data released by the country's energy watchdog on Thursday.
Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, declined by 6.6% in March to 2.50 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.
Türkiye imported the majority of its crude oil and oil product needs from Russia in March, totaling 1.92 million tons. Libya and Kazakhstan followed with 362,898 tons and 251,483 tons, respectively.
Total exports in the oil market decreased by 22%, reaching 1.33 million tons.
Additionally, total domestic oil product sales increased by 0.9% year-over-year in March to 2.67 million tons.
