NewÌýcarÌýsalesÌýinÌýtheÌýEUÌýmarketÌýincreased by 0.8% compared to a year ago, reaching 10.63 millionÌýinÌý2024, according to data by TheÌýEuropean Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) released on Tuesday.
The share of fully electric, hybrid and plug-inÌýhybridÌýcarÌýmodelsÌýinÌýtotalÌýsalesÌýinÌýtheÌýEUÌýwas 51.6%ÌýinÌý2024.
On the other hand, compared to the previous year, electricÌýcarÌýsalesÌýfell by 5.9% and plug-inÌýhybridÌýsalesÌýfell by 6.8%.
NewÌýcarÌýregistrationsÌýinÌýSpainÌýshowed a 7.1% growth rate, however France saw a decline of 3.2%, Germany 1% and Italy 0.5%ÌýinÌý2024.
Volkswagen Group sold the mostÌýnewÌýcarsÌýinÌýtheÌýEUÌýinÌý2024Ìýwith 2.84 million units.
Volkswagen Group was followed by Stellantis Group, whichÌýincludes brands such as Peugeot, Fiat, Citroen and Opel, that sold 1.74 million units.
Renault Group ranked third with 1.15 million units soldÌýinÌý2024.
InÌýDecember, on a yearly basis,ÌýnewÌýcarÌýregistrationsÌýinÌýtheÌýEUÌýcountries rose by 5.1%, totaling to 910,505.
