Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 12% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 781,125 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,115 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,209 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 773,921 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 11.9% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 17.9% of total generation, while solar energy plants and imported coal plants contributed 13.8% and 13.6%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 7,444 megawatt-hours, and imports totaled 14,713 megawatt-hours.
