Norway's total energy consumption increased by 1.5 percent last year compared to the year earlier, Statistics Norway (SSB) announced on Wednesday.
According to official figures from the SSB, the Nordic country's final energy consumption was around 215 terawatt-hours (TWh) in 2016, compared to the 212 TWh in 2015.
The manufacturing, construction and non-fuel mining industries had the biggest share in the consumption while transport and household followed these sectors.
Norway's primary energy production increased by 1 percent last year, compared to 2015, the SSB added.
Norway is the biggest natural gas producer and exporter country in Europe as it generates most of its electricity from renewable sources.
