Turkey's daily electricity consumption fell by 0.35% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 865,406 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,603 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,553 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 869,064 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.14% drop from Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 47.4% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 12.7% while imported coal plants comprised 11%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,382 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,854 megawatt-hours.
