Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 749,499 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,654 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,159 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 754,732 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.2% fall compared to Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.8% while lignite comprised 16.1%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 16,117 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,204 megawatt-hours.
