Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.2% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 798,807 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,595 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (0400 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,731 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 801,001 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 11.2% decrease compared to Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 23.6% while lignite plants comprised 15.9%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,832 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,020 megawatt-hours.
