Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 4,73% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 726,882 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 35,482 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,094 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 734,979 megawatt-hours on Thursday marking a 4,78% drop compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 33,08% of total electricity consumption on Thursday, imported coal plants held a 19,83% share while lignite plants comprised 16,20%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,128 megawatt-hours while imports reached 2,030 megawatt-hours.
