Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.86% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 856,204 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 39,802 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,424 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 862,155 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.98% increase from Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.8% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity plants comprised 18.4%, while imported coal power plants held a 12.8% share.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,931 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 15,496 megawatt-hours.
