Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 13.8% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 835,837 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 39,647 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,600 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 838,984 megawatt-hours on Monday marking a 13.8% increase from Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.3% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity plants comprised 17.3%, while lignite power plants held a 12.9% share.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,810 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,007 megawatt-hours.
