Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14.1% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 849,558 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 40,822 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,163 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 853,700 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 14% increase from Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 22.8% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 18.4%, while lignite power plants held a 12.5% share.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,375 megawatt-hours, while imports total 5,437 megawatt-hours.
