Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.41% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 860,575 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 42,397 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,616 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 874,965 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.77% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 36.11% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 19.78% share while lignite plants comprised 13.81%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,507 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,117 megawatt-hours.
