Turkiye’s electricity company Enerjisa Enerji will provide Sabanci Holding, Sabanci University, and Teknosa with more than 25,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable energy, Enerjisa said in a statement on Thursday.
The agreement is part of Enerjisa’s green initiative “Energy of My Business to provide power equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 8,475 households. It will also prevent 14,110 tons of CO2 emissions.
Green energy resources will fully power Sabanci Holding and Sabanci University as part of the agreement. Teknosa will utilize green electricity in all stores and campuses where Enerjisa is the energy supplier.
“With this agreement, companies will not only encourage consumption from clean energy resources in general areas but will also contribute to strengthening our country's uninterrupted access to energy and resource diversification; hence, ensuring supply security, according to the statement.
Enerjisa will generate approximately 11,000 MWh of electricity for Sabanci Holding and nearly 5,980 MWh for Sabanci University using renewable resources.
A solar power plant and cogeneration system built by Enerjisa has been providing 60% of the power needs of the Tuzla campus of Sabanci University in Istanbul.
Teknosa, meanwhile, will use green energy provided by Enerjisa to meet the energy capacity of 8,500 MWh in 2022.
