Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 7.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 876,188 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,455 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,473 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 881,404 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of 7.1% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and imported coal plants contributed 15.7% and 15%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 10,289 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 5,089 megawatt-hours.
