Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 12.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 849,451 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,788 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. local time (1800, 1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,469 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 851,019 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 12.2% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from wind plants accounted for 20.9% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 19% and 14.7%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 15,276 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 13,543 megawatt-hours.
