Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 18.2% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 706,448 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 34,242 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 24,029 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 707,274 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a fall of about 17.4% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for 21.5% of total generation, while solar plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 18.2% and 15.5%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,873 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 7,062 megawatt-hours.
